New iPhone App Helps to Find Lost Children

If you don't already know, there is a new App available on the market that is a must have for all parents and non-parents out there. I wanted to take a moment to share it with the mom blogger community...

Rescuehood Service Launches on iTunes

NORTH VANCOUVER, Canada  - (February 24, 2012) – Rescuehood founder, Randall Isaac, announced today that its emergency broadcast service for finding lost children has officially gone live. Rescuehood is a mobile app that instantly engages other subscribers who are close by to help find a lost child.

A parent of two young children, Isaac explains his inspiration for developing Rescuehood – “Have you ever lost sight of your child in a public place? If so, you know that instant feeling of dread when you suddenly feel frantic and alone in a sea of strangers. I watched helplessly while this happened to a mom in a local mall and the mall staff was at a loss about how to help. The experience stayed with me for months until one day it clicked – why not use mobile technology and smart phones to spread an alert instantly?”

Available for download on iTunes, Rescuehood subscribers set-up profiles of their children in advance, safely storing photos and identity information on their own phones, ready to use in case of an emergency. In the event that a child is lost, users can quickly broadcast an alert to other Rescuehood members within a 5 mile radius.  Those who wish to support a safer world for children can downlowad the app to their iPhone for free. Parents who want to be prepared to broadcast to the network must register their identity and pay 99 cent annual fee. Rescuehood sits indiscreetly on users' iPhones, ready to spring into action in the event of a crisis.

A recent post from a parent on Rescuehood’s Facebook page states; “A small act of individual social responsibility CAN make a huge difference in public safety...”

Isaac says, “I’m thankful for all the amazing feedback, encouragement and support that we’ve received. Rescuehood is rapidly growing community by community, and parent by parent. Every single subscriber is a leader, taking a stand to make safer world for children. This technology will one day be on every mobile phone in the world and will make a significant impact to child abduction and crime”
