Menstrual Cycle May Affect Mammogram Sensitivity and Accuracy

 

If it's getting time for you to get the "boob squeeze," or a mammogram (as the medical community calls it), you'll want to know about the latest research study, just published in last month's issue of Radiology. Researchers urge women who are pre-menopausal, who have routine mammograms, to schedule their screenings during the first week of their menstrual cycle - which is the week that you're having your period.
