Recently we had some powerful storms rip through the area, causing widespread blackouts. Contrary to popular belief, losing electricity isn’t all that bad. Depending on how long it’s lost for, of course!

Some of the "upsides" to going without power I found were:

  • Having an excellent excuse to make a meal out of ice cream.
  • Enjoying all the candlelight
  • Not feeling the need to check my social networking sites/emails/etc because I couldn't connect!
  • Realizing how smart my DH is because he fashioned a fan for me out of a USB hub and a laptop :>
