We went to a Parade & Pumpkin Festival this weekend!  Though it wasn’t the 1st parade the boys have been to, it was definitely the 1st parade that they were able to stand along the edge of the street and participate in!  Rocco & Roman were in their glory and totally on a sugar high from Tootsie Rolls & Lolli-Pops!  The whole parade concept seemed foreign to them.  You know, the fact that they were actually

allowed to eat candy that was thrown out of trucks and wagons by total strangers,

that landed on the street next to a sewer and a chewed up piece of gum

and picked up by their own hands was mind blowing…

unfathomable!

I’ve never seen such excitement and the parade was full of all things that our little boys love: Tractors, Fire Trucks, Quads, Dirt Bikes, Wagons… I couldn’t get them to look at my camera once.

LOUD HORNS, BEEPS, SIRENS & MUSIC… CANDY! CANDY! CANDY!  This parade rocked the town and rocked their world!  I have to take a moment though to let you check out the puff of black fur to the right of Roman’s head.  That’s right, my boy took his place for the parade next to the best dressed woman on the street! ; )  A woman in sequins, open-toe stilettos and a long black fur coat.  She had bright red lipstick and perfectly lined dark eyes… I caught Roman fixated on her on and off during the parade.  I knew he was a bit confused by her Saturday morning attire and at one point he said,

“She wooks wike a bear, mommy!”

Thank the Lord she didn’t hear him.  Part of me thinks she would have giggled and another part of me thinks she would’ve broken my neck. (I just couldn’t tell.)  Roman went back to candy picking and forgot he was standing next to her but then every time he’d turn around to hand me a piece of candy, he looked like a deer in head lights when he’d see her again.  Every.  Time.  I just wanted to scream, “ROMAN!  She’s been there the whole time.  Stop it!  She’s not going anywhere!  Don’t make faces at people!  Everything is fine!”  We got a good Saturday morning giggle though – people are cool ; ) And she knew she rocked that fur!

As for our little peanut, we are halfway there now and during the parade, I could feel the baby doing flips & kicking!  I think it was the loud noise but there was a party going on inside and out!  Brian and I recently had our 2nd trimester ultrasound and everything looks great with #3!  10 fingers, 10 PiggyToes, a strong heartbeat and the cutest little lips you ever have seen!  And…

IT’S A

HEALTHY BABY!

Sorry, baby’s gender is tucked away in an envelope!  And I’m ready to hold this little one…

NOW.
