So, today I watched a youtube video about family size. I guess I have become so accustomed to my perfect sized family (6 little ones, 2 adults) that I forget that people still look at us like we're crazy. I have become entertained by the comments that come along with having a large family. My husband works alot so, most times I am out and about with the little ones alone. Some of the brilliant responses I get from people never cease to amaze me, My all time favorite is (1) "Do you have help with them or are you doing this alone?" That's the slick way of asking am I married or is the rock on my hand decoration? I usually smile and respond by saying my husband promised a nanny but I refused. (2) You couldn't figure out had this kept happening? (3) Are you catholic? (4) I could never handle six kids! my response: then maybe you should stop where you are...I always say this with the sweetest smile. (5) So you don't believe in contraceptives, huh? (6) I think maybe you guys should stop now, you have a full house. my response: You know we've been thinking about upgrading to a 10 bedroom. (7) How do you ever get all the house work done? my thoughts here are, How does any wife and mother ever get all the house work done? It never ends. One task is being completed while another is being created. As I sweep the kitchen, cheerios are being spilled in the den. Its the wonderful life of a mother. Have a harmonious home where most clothing are washed, dished cleaned, food prepared, children and husband bathed is a balancing act that requires careful planning.
From the first date with my husband he told me that he wanted a big family and I thought it was a beautiful thing then and I feel even stronger about it now. Whatever size family you choose, love it ! I have learned that each family has a size perfected for them!
