I know.  I’m having a baby in less than 1 week and need/should stop but I just can’t.  I’ve never been this uncomfortable during a pregnancy so since sitting and laying hurt, I’m standing.  A LOT.  And finding things to do around our home!  I planned to leave all of the Valentine’s Day decor up until after the baby arrived but on Friday afternoon, I couldn’t take the deep reds all throughout our home and had to brighten things up; especially in our Dining Room!  I mean, when I thought about it, I’ve been looking at deep reds since shortly after Thanksgiving!  Enough already.

I titled this post, ‘PRE-Spring Dining Decor’ because that’s just what it is.  A transition look to rid our eyes of deep colors and bring in a more natural, lighter feel!  Come in!  Take a look at what my PiggyToes have been up to!

Welcome to Our Dining Room.

Like I said, I really wanted to give this room a more natural, casual and simple look and I love how it turned out.  One of the things I love the most is the shortened table; something I don’t do often enough.  Bringing the chairs closer together gives it a more intimate feel and by dressing the table with natural elements like wood, metals and textured linens; gave this room a much more casual look.

Let’s talk details… and where you can find the same pieces for your home!

The wood chargers, wood napkin rings, chair covers and table linens are all from Pottery Barn, one of my most favorite stores!  The metal leaf stand and ramekins are from Willow House.  I’ve also put candles on this stand as well.

This Citron Basil Soy Candle is from Anthropologie; probably my favorite candle store and the 4 beautiful little glasses you see were a wedding gift from years ago.  I wish I could find more; they are my favorite.

The 3 Pillar Candles and tray are from Pottery Barn and the two dried floral arrangements are from TJMaxx!  Keep your eyes open this time of year for dried floral arrangements at your local TJMaxx.  The prices are incredible and the arrangements are sure to last for years!

This natural arrangement (sitting on our small serving buffet) was hand-made by my sister-in-law and I!  We each have a few in our homes and purchased all of the materials (Glass vase, White Rocks, Raffia ribbon and Sticks- both curly and straight) at Michaels.

I have no clue where I got this little metal holder from but I found it in our storage room, filled it with ‘stuff’ (what’s that stuff called?) and added a few candles inside (which I don’t plan to burn).

Spring may not be here just yet but it’s not too early to start brightening up your home!  Add a few touches here and there, move 7 things to 7 new places and you’ll feel like a whole new person!  Try it!
