Prepaid Credit Card: Interest Free but Loaded with Fees

Credit Card or Debit Card?

What is in a name? A reloadable or prepaid card looks like your credit card or debit card. The difference between a prepaid card and a credit card is that you are limited by money you load on your card. The big draw to the reloadable and prepaid cards is that, unlike credit cards, there is no interest charged for using these products.

In place of interest charges, however, they charge fees, fees, and more fees. Before you consider a reloadable or prepaid card do your homework and read the terms of the card. The money that you save could be your own.

Small sample of fees:

monthly fee, fee to add money to your card, fee to use your card, fee to check the balance on your card...
