Children’s Sports Related Eye Injuries are all too common. Many states are taking extra precautions by introducing Bills that support educational programs that protect our children's eyes. However, there are steps you can take.
 It is recommended that all children participating in school sports or recreational sports wear protective eyewear.

Recently I watched a group of children playing  hockey with no protective eyewear. One of the children was hit in the eye with a puck.  Needless to say he suffered severe damage to his eye.

I worked many years in the optical industry and saw many children that suffered sports related eye injuries. Unfortunately many of these children suffered irreparable damage and in some cases blindness.

Please speak to your Optometrist about sports or recreational sports eyewear.  There are so many cool colors and styles for your child to choose from.
