Symptoms to Take Notice of in Children

The NHS has been facing ever-increasing pressures in recent years, with slashed budgets, staff shortages and lack of resources taking its toll on the quality of care. One of the many ways we commonly see the impact of these pressures is in waiting times for GP…

Mother of the Bride Guide

The day you’ve dreamed of for years has finally arrived! Your little girl is all grown up and has chosen a partner to start her life with, and you are officially a MoB -- Mother of the Bride! While congratulatory remarks are appropriate at this juncture, so are a few…

How to Through A Larger Than Life Small Wedding on a Budget

This one is as simple as crowdfunding your honeymoon. It might sound strange at first, but do you really need another blender or set of dinner plates? Instead of having your guests purchase a bunch of things you’ll end up trying to return anyway, why not let them chip in for…

Unless you’ve been locked in a basement for the last month you know that the Royal Wedding is about to happen (and if you are reading this after 1am Friday morning, it’s already happened).  I don’t know about you but I was NOT really excited or interested in the Royal Wedding.  Nor was I going to wake up at 1 in the morning to watch it!  For the last 2 weeks every news station, and morning show has talked about it.  It has been Royal Wedding overload!

Kai and I at Montage Hotel Beverly Hills Tea

Well, I have to admit that I had a change of heart when my dear friend Kaishauna told me that she was going to Tivo (record) the wedding and have an afternoon tea with her daughter!!! I thought that was such a wonderful idea, that I had to copy it.  My daughter Victoria LOVES weddings.  In fact, last week she was watching a show and my son asked her if she wanted to come with us somewhere.  She said, “In a minute.  I want to see if they get married.”  Then 5 minutes later she came downstairs to let me know that they kissed on the show, twice!  So, instead of thinking of myself and what I like or could care less about, I have my TiVo set to record the wedding on 2 different stations at 1 and 4am.  I plan on watching it with my daughter Victoria (age 5) sometime Saturday as we have a High Tea.  She LOVES princesses, weddings, and of course her favorite part…the KISS!  I can remember the hoopla over Dianna’s wedding when I was a little girl. It is “magical”.   This can be an awesome mother daughter experience that my daughter will always remember.

If you think this is a great idea, I have added a few pictures of some of my past teas to show you how to put together a quick Royal High Tea (or Afternoon Tea).   I usually have tea parties at my house 1-2 times a year.  I usually invite my girlfriends and I also invite a guest speaker to encourage us, and we have a wonderful time.  Of course, a tea party with my daughter won’t involve a guest speaker.  We’ll enjoy our tea while watching the taped Royal Wedding.
