Some people just weren't supposed to get married, but it seems like that is almost always the case with celebrities.

Why is it? Too much exposure? Is it the price of being famous? Are the rumors too much? Is the schedule an issue? I'd say that all these things come into play, but I'm no marriage counselor. I recently read an article on the longest celebrity marriages, which made me curious about which marriages didn't stand the test of time. By that, I mean, I want to know which marriages crashed and burned, which ones could have used a little help from the wedding articles from Answers.com. Alas, this is what I found. Enjoy the mediocrity of it all!

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries - marriage lasted 72 days

This power couple seemed to have the world in their rich hands for about three months. They lived out their romance on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, and even televised their wedding for the world to see on Kim's Fairytale Wedding. But something went terribly wrong, and it seems that the two can't decide what is going on. In Kardashian's statement, she said, "After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage. I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don't work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best."

While Humphries had this to say: "I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce. I'm committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it work."

Ouch.

Britney Spears and Jason Alexander - marriage lasted 55 hours (!)

Drugs can make us do some crazy things. Britney Spears got married to her childhood friend, Jason Alexander, in 2004 in Las Vegas. The two said that they were carried away by the Sin City, but as the story got older, newer versions popped up that included drugs and alcohol. This marked the first in a line of many subsequent mishaps for Spears as her public image began to spiral out of control. She seems to be making her way back, though. Good for you, Britney.

Dennis Rodman and Carmen Electra - marriage lasted 9 days

Basketball's badboy and America's pinup girl decided to get hitched one day. Then eight days later, decided it wasn't such a good idea. Rodman and Electra told the media that their love was real, but even Rodman's (Rodman, for Christ's sake) lawyers were questioning the legality of the marriage. It's what you'd come to expect from the man that wore a wedding dress to his book signing in 1996.

Electra told People, "It's easy to get caught up in a moment. You think it's romantic, but then you realize, 'God, we did it in Vegas?' It's like getting a cheeseburger at a fast-food restaurant."

Kid Rock and Pamela Anderson - marriage lasted 122 days
From one Baywatch girl to another. Kid Rock and Pamela Anderson had an on-again-off-again relationship from 2001-2003, but they rekindled that fire in 2006. Shortly after, they got married on a boat in the only fashion that seemed appropriate for these two: Anderson in a white string bikini and Rock in a white T-shirt and baseball cap.
How it failed I'll never know. According to reports, at some point they both realized they were never going to make it so they each raced to the courthouse to file divorce papers. Kid Rock beat her by 53 minutes.
