Vignette_vintage photo_bellacasa_03.29.10Is your home cluttered? Does your home provide you with positive energy?

A dirty or cluttered home can zap the surroundings of energy which translates directly to how you feel when you are there.

To fully unleash the energy in your home you must think large scale. You can't simply sweep up the dust bunnies and be done. You must also clear out the areas under beds and in closets to allow the flow of energy to pass through.

Have you ever "really, really" cleaned something that you cherish...let's say your computer? If you are a blogger like I am, your computer is pretty important to you. And once you have given it a good cleaning, how did you feel when you were finished?

Takes small steps when it comes to clearing and cleaning. The entire house is a giant step, but a necessary one. However, if you break things down by areas and things that you want cleaned, it tends to motivate you a bit faster.

If you are lucky enough to afford a cleaning service, by all means hire one. Let them clean your home especially after you have removed the clutter. You'll want them to be able to get to all the corners and under the beds to clean.

Afterwords, step back and ask yourself, "now how do I feel?". If you are like most people, you feel a sense of fulfillment. A whole new source of energy has been unleashed in your home and in you. If you'd like to continue with that feeling...prevent the cluttering so it is easier to keep.

Great post! I think we are on the same page, although most of my efforts go to remind people to declutter their minds. My book that was just released, Housekeeping for the Soul: A practical Guide to Restoring Your Inner Sanctuary, is based on the concept of cleansing and "redecorating" our lives and thoughts following the familiar approach of housekeeping. :-)
