Stepping Out Beyond Yourself - Starting Your Blog

Making the decision to blog is a huge decision.  There are many factors to consider, the time commitment, the technical challenges and finding your voice. However, the greatest challenge by far is stepping beyond yourself and stepping out of your comfort zone.

In a video, I created for my website I focused on this idea. I shared 3 tips to stepping out of your comfort zone. (I also created an informative PDF). What I wanted to emphasize is that the change you seek, the impact you make may not come until you make those bold steps outside of your comfort zone.CHECK IT OUT HERE

If you think about it everything that you now do was once outside of your comfort zone. It wasn't until you tried (and repeated) that new thing that it became normal.

So, in essence, it is really about you overcoming your fears, learning a new task and repeating it enough until it isn’t new anymore. The challenge is more about that first step. That first step out of your comfort zone feels like more than you can bear. Personally, I have learned that until you decide in your mind, no action will take place.

For example, I have noticed for some, the fear of growing their blog may be about what others will say and how it will be received. I would suggest in this case you would first g=have to make up in your mind you are satisfied with your blog, then you can handle the criticism.

Of course, the greatest fear is that fear of failure. I have learned to just accept it as a possible outcome. However, I no longer focus on it as a major outcome. In fact, there are other options. You may do exceptionally well! You may find a new calling! You may become a leader in the industry.

The fact is until we really step beyond ourselves, it is impossible to really know all we are capable of.
