The benefits of getting a Mini facelift
Mini facelift is made to help older people look younger but without the downtime and cost of the traditional facelift. Even men and women who are in their 30s can turn to the mini facelift.
What is the mini facelift?
The mini facelift is a surgical procedure done on an outpatient basis and it rejuvenates the bottom third of your face together with the neck and jowls. It is the same procedure which you may have heard being called a quicklift, weekend facelift, short scar facelift or S-lift.
The reasons why you should get the lift
The mini facelift will be done using a local anesthesia and it can take only 45 minutes. Some patients may drive themselves back to their homes and the recovery takes only about 2 days compared to the 2 to 3 weeks required after the traditional facelift.
Are you the right candidate to get the mini facelift?
You are a good candidate for the procedure if you are treating mild and moderate drooping of the jawline, neck and cheeks; if you are healthy and you are between 30 to 60 years of age; and your facial bone is well defined.
However, when you have severe drooping at the jowl skin and the neck as well as sagging at the brow or forehead, you will not get the results you are looking for with a mini facelift.
How is the procedure performed?
You can be given a local anesthetic in order to numb the face. The surgeon will start by making a S-shaped incision starting at the base of the sideburn, then curve down and he will stop at your earlobe. However, for the traditional facelift, the incision is going to start higher and it will continue on the hairline and behind your ear where it reaches the mid-back of your neck for two inches.
The mini facelift will elevate your facial skin and it trims away all the loose skin, the excess skin while it reverses the effects caused by sagging and your jowls. Since a mini facelift will not disturb too much tissue like the traditional facelift, there will be less swelling and less bruising.
