December 1st marks the beginning of a very busy month between Christmas parties and traveling I am going to need to up my caffeine intake. My 6 weeks post op appointment is the 15th, thank goodness, and Dr. H didn't want me traveling around until after that appointment, well, too late I already did when we went to Orlando;-) I needed to get out of town even if it was for a day. I am so used to being able to just hop in the car and go and this whole surgery thing has put a dent in that but no more!
For the past three holiday seasons we have headed to Bok Tower in Lake Wales (a must if you live in Florida) to enjoy the gorgeous Christmas decorations.
The Pinewood Mansion on the property is breathtaking! Every time we go there we return home feeling renewed. It's a little piece of Zen here in Florida. Logan actually wanted to visit here first and then go to Busch Gardens....Really?!?!
No complaints from this lady:-)
My Christmas cards are just burning a hole in my drawer, my Christmas (online) shipping is nearly complete and this weekend we are going to pick out our real tree. I promised Phil and Logan last year that we would get a real tree due to the fact we moved a week before Christmas and we didn't have one. Phil however has promised to vacuum up all needles that grace my living room floor:-)
I see a Griswold moment coming for us soon!
Now that the cold front has swept across our town, thank goodness because I was one cranky woman yesterday with 84 degree heat, 75% humidity and had to run the air while watching The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, today my sauciness levels have dropped as the brisk chilly air filters through the open windows. My Christmas spirit has risen and I am ready to continue decking the halls, plan which parades we are going to and possibly drag the boys to the Festival of Trees (I'll bribe 'em)
Time to get our Christmas on Homeschool style;-)
Happy December 1st!
Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful. ~Norman Vincent Peale
