Yesterday seemed to start a hero theme, so I thought I would proceed with another blog I would like you to visit.

Awhile ago when I was pregnant with Jude I was a member of the Just Mommies website. We all talked and shared our stories in different "due date clubs". I, being my nosey self would hunt through other groups including those of moms who were further along than me. One day I came across Liz Logelin. I never personally chatted with her, but I peeked in at what was going on with her. I knew she had had a rough pregnancy, and was on bed rest until she delivered her baby. Anyway, one afternoon I was in my own due date club, and a message came across telling me to go read a blog. It was Liz's husbands............she had died. I couldn't believe it! She had delivered her daughter by C-Section, and I believe it was the next day she died from a blood clot.

I have followed her husbands story since that day. I have read his emotionally drenched writings, and cried my heart out for him. I also cried for his daughter Madeline because she won't have her mom there in important times, and I know how that feels. She has an incredible dad though who has raised her from the time he was wheeled out of the hospital with her (those pictures made me cry as well). I have also been so amazed by his strength in helping others. Matt started the Liz Logelin foundation which helps widowed parents. Please take a moment to visit his blog http://www.mattlogelin.com/ and please donate to the foundation.

Matt was recently featured on Oprah. I had no idea he was going to be on, but I do record Oprah each day. As I sat down to watch the show they ran clips of upcoming segments. My husband started laughing at me as I was yelling "THAT'S MATT LOGELIN!!!". I made my hubby sit down and watch, but when Matt discussed losing Liz it was just to much for Mike to handle. I watched Mike's eyes tear up, and he muttered "I just couldn't have handled that". I reminded him that the words "I cannot handle that", don't apply in reality!

So Matt, you are my Thursday hero!
