The Secret to Staying Motivated Is Empowerment?

The view of empowerment according to Hippocrates, the father of medicine, is that nothing else produces joys, delights, laughter, grief, and despondency but the brain. Yet in Persian culture, the legendary Persian physician Avicenna (A.D. 980-1037) said the imagination not only acts on one’s own body but also other’s bodies at great distances. (Persian philosophy believes that thoughts are real and can reach out to influence realms beyond this one.)
I say take the best of both worlds-—use your mind and imagination to influence your reality and change your world. Empowerment begins with cutting through the illusions. Yet, most of us need structure and form. You may have been out of control with your eating in the past. Or you may have been so in control that you were overly controlling of everything. Either scenario is out of balance with the natural flow of the universe. Empowerment is finding what balance means in your life by taking responsibility for your own thoughts, feelings, and actions.
