True Beauty - From A Mother To Her Daughter

She is one of the most amazing people I know.  Probably one of the most I will ever meet in my life.  She is my daughter… my six-year-old daughter.  She epitomizes the term “true beauty.”  Below are some reasons… from a mother to her daughter.

  1. She is the (just 6-year-old girl) that cannot stand anyone being sad or alone.  If mom and dad are taking separate cars, instead of driving with her sister, which would be her preference, she chooses to drive with the parent that would be alone.
  2. She would forego going to a friend’s birthday party and stay home with mom, dad or her sister if any one of us were sick and didn’t have the energy to leave the house.
  3. She is the child that had a severe accident 2 years ago…

Her accident involved glass and her perfect face.  Not only did she almost lose her lip, her face was severed so badly that determining the damage was near impossible.  As tears streamed down her innocent face, they quickly turned red from the amount of blood she was losing.  In the ambulance, she lay on her father.  He held her tight to spare her from being affected by any bumps.  Unfortunately, I was at work during the accident. Panic stricken after receiving the phone call, I drove straight to the police station in our town where the ambulance picked me up.

As I climbed into the ambulance, I saw my beautiful daughter, her eyes showing the extreme pain she was in and I almost collapsed.  Then, something miraculous happened.  Talia looked at me with her enormous and beautiful brown eyes, reached her arm out for mine, placed her hand on my arm, squeezed it ever so gently and said, “it’s ok mommy, I am going to be ok.”  Talia was only 4.  She was a 4-year-old child who was more concerned about her mother than herself.

To be continued…
