Turning 50 - Looking and Feeling Great!

As I age I notice that I do not exercise the way I used to. For one thing, I no longer care as much about the latest fitness trend. I still enjoy the social sports like golf and enjoy swimming, yoga and skiing when I can. The reality is that none of these are consistent. I have never been a runner and quite frankly it hurts my feet, knees and back. So, my regular exercise regimen simply consists of walking almost everyday. I do anywhere from two to five miles. Here is a short video on products I love that help me look and feel great as I exercise:

Here are the links for the four products mentioned in the video:

Nike+ GPS app – I normally only use free apps for my iPhone, but when my friend Jill told me about this app, it was just the motivator I needed to start walking. Not only does it track my distance and pace but also my calories burned! Now I know whether I can splurge on that extra glass of wine or not. The GPS feature it also keeps track of the terrain I am on and whether I am going up or down hills. It is definitely worth the $1.99. Go to iTunes app store.
Under Armour T-Shirt – UA Charged Cotton T-shirt dries five times faster than ordinary cotton. Light, breezy and non-restrictive, it is truly my favorite t-shirt. Buy from UnderArmour for $24.99.
HoldYourHaunches Leggings - Admittedly my first impression of these leggings was the name. Loved it! Then when I tried them on and saw how they looked I loved them even more. These leggings have shape-wear lining inside and a high waist with an extra wide band to hold-it-all-in. They feel great. I feel great wearing them. I wear them ev.er.y.where. I am starting to wonder if people think I only own one pair of pants. Buy directly from HoldYourHaunches for $120.00.
ObjexSports Bra – One of those why-did-I-not-think-of-this!  Stylish, comfortable, supportive and practical, this sports bra (comes in 3 styles) has a convenient pocket to hold iPod, iPhone, money and/or keys. Buy from ObjexSports for $40.00.

I no longer waste time driving to some indoor facility to stay fit. I am outdoors enjoying the day and staying in shape at the same time. Add some hand weights for strengthening and you are ready to go!  Trust me – keep it simple – it is are more fun this way. And hey, at our age, simple is good!
