Recap Day 1 | Recap Day 2

The second day of our Universal Orlando trip took us to the Islands of Adventure where we visited Marvel Super Hero Island and rode the Amazing Adventures of Spider Man, a 3-D adventure ride that you have to see to believe as well as the Incredible Hulk Coaster. We also visited Toon Lagoon, Jurassic Park, Seuss Landing, and the Lost Continent.

I hope you enjoy the photos below. They take you through our second day at Universal Orlando.

There is literally something for everyone at Universal Orlando's Islands of Adventure from thrill rides to water rides to rides for very small children. Also, Universal Orlando does a brilliant job of creating themes for their various islands. I loved Marvel Super Hero Island best because of the Spiderman 3-D ride and the Hulk Coaster. We're lucky because our daughters are old enough to ride everything in the park now (a definite milestone for us!) so we could take advantage of the areas that are geared to the older set.

For lunch at the Islands of Adventure we ate at Confisco Grille. Because we are a vegetarian family the chef came out and reassured us that they could make meals to our specifications. In fact, they substituted avocado for what was originally supposed to be chicken in my wrap (see photo below). My husband and youngest had the best pasta dish I have ever tasted in my life. It was something about that sauce that was very tasty. And our oldest had a personal veggie pizza.

Throughout the park there were also ample character sightings. We saw Captain America, Rogue, Storm, Wolverine, Spiderman and Cyclops. And in Seuss Landing we ran into the Grinch (see below), the Cat in the Hat, and Sam from Green Eggs and Ham. Seuss Landing even has a restaurant where you can get green eggs and ham.

One thing I noticed is that each island is very true to its original theme from Jurassic Park that has 65,000 trees to Seuss Landing that is just as colorful, playful and whimsical as Dr. Seuss's many books.

After we left Islands of Adventure for the day we got some rest back at the hotel and then went to Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando for dinner and a luau (see photo below). We had such a great time! Dinner was especially good with coconut rice and spicy vegetables along with a mixed greens salad and fruit. I wish I had taken a photo of my meal, but I was so hungry I just dug in.

Tomorrow's post will take you to Universal Studios where we rode theme rides for popular characters like The Simpsons, ET, Men in Black and Shrek.

Wonderful photos. I am in the Orlando area but haven't been to Universal in a long time. These photos inspire me to go again. Glad that you are enjoying the trip.
