Different Styles And Types Of Furniture To Try For Your Home

Fun Repurposing Projects for Those Old Blinds

No room is complete without the right blinds! But, that doesn’t mean the same set of blinds will look right at home in your living room until the end…

Of the many things I’ve considered in the last 8 weeks, how much time we spend out of the house is pretty high on the list.  The husband and I discussed this quite a bit.  We have some friends who didn’t leave the house for the first month of the baby’s life.  I struggle (or struggled) with striking a balance between protecting Squeaker’s fledgling immune system and getting on with the logistics of life (also known as fighting cabin fever).  In the end, I decided that Squeaks and I are hitting the town!  He rarely leaves his “bucket” or whatever carrier I have him in, and he seems to like the travel.  This is all to say that I think this is a decision that each parent needs to make for their own family.

I have very recently become comfortable with my stroller.  It was daunting to me at first.  It seemed heavy and clunky, and I was worried that I wouldn’t know how to pull all the right levers and push the right buttons.  I am gaining confidence.  The stroller is AWESOME.  If you are thinking about buying a stroller and don’t know which way to look, let me point you toward the Chicco travel systems(!  My stroller is fantastic.  It has also allowed me to hit the streets of the city with ease.

Yesterday, Squeaker and I took our first trip on the subway.  The MBTA really exceeded my expectations.  I’d never been in the elevators before and the ones I used yesterday were clean, they worked well, and felt very reliable.  I was impressed.  I have to admit that when I got to the Porter Square station, I followed a nanny with her stroller, just so I looked like I knew where I was going J.  She was none the wiser.  We flawlessly rode the train down to MIT and successfully met Dad for lunch.  Baby was happy, parents were happy—all in all it was a great afternoon.

So to all those other level one moms out there, if you’re in a city, take a chance on public transit.  You might be pleasantly surprised and your walk repertoire could expand past your neighborhood.  I’m glad I did it!
