Being a bride-to-be can be incredibly overwhelming and confusing, with so many things to plan for and prepare, including, but not limited to the wedding invitations. People in this situation can often feel like they are being pulled in a million directions with wedding ideas and planning, unsure exactly of what they should and should not be doing.

Wedding Invitation Do’s

  • Consider your wedding colours and themes. Your wedding invitations can be used to inform people of the vibe for your wedding. It is always a good idea to try and put your wedding colours somewhere on your invite to try to keep everything in line.
  • Place postage on your RSVP envelopes to make replying as accommodating as possible for your guests. Some of your invitees will no doubt really appreciate this.
  • Only include vital details. The best wedding invites are simple and to the point, only including the basic wedding details, such as location and date. If you want to include extra information you should consider including inserts.
  • To make your wedding invites more personal consider inserting a photo from your engagement photo shoot, this will really get people excited for the big day.
  • Address each invitation with each guests name so that everyone can feel special for a second.
  • Don’t be scared to hire a wedding planner. So many people strive to plan their weddings on their own, but there are professionals available to make the planning much easier and more enjoyable.

Wedding Invitation Don’ts

  • Do not include wedding register information inside your invitation. That is bad etiquette. You don’t want people to feel as though they have to buy you gifts.
  • Don’t use address labels; it is much nicer to handwrite your envelopes and again this is something that can help to make invitees feel special and considered.
  • Do not send out your invites out too early or too late. About 2 months in advance is the best time to send out your wedding invitations, but ensure that you send out your save the date invites well in advance so that people can avoid making other arrangements for your wedding day.

These are only some of the top tips to follow if you are looking to get your invitations right. Don’t forget that no matter how much you think you may know it can always be handy to speak with a wedding invitation supplier who will be able to offer their specialist advice and guidance, listening to your needs and requirements and doing all they can to assist you in obtaining the most fabulous wedding invitations for your big day.
