I am very excited. I have been spending more time on Twitter and many of the people I follow are talking about Energy Bits. They are an algae tab that are very high in protein. I was very intrigued but when I looked at the website to see about trying some, I found out they were pricey for a trial. So many of the people I follow have been doing giveaways so I have been entering. Then on Tuesday night I was part of a Twitter Chat (Blogging) hosted by Energy bits and mentioned that I wanted to try them and had been entering contests but the price was deterring me from ordering , well....Energy Bits contacted me and they are sending me a free sample to try and then do a blog review on! I can't wait to try them and then tell you about them.

This got me thinking, there are many products that I like, that even with out getting a free sample, I could do a review on on my blog. So I am thinking I am going to devote Thursday on my blog to telling readers (the few that I have right now:) ) about products I like. Next week I am hoping my ProCompression socks are here so I can tell you about them. I have also been entering daily giveaways and any blog giveaway for these amazing JayBird bluetooth headphones so hopefully I can win or buy them before my half marathon on April 13th and then tell you about them. Maybe if I win the big grand prize of Best Body Bootcamp I will buy myself a pair and treat myself (inspired by Runsonglitter's recent post Treat Yo Self, love Parks and Rec).

Alright on to today's review

So that is what the company says.
What is Advocare to me?

First off as I have said before I am a skeptic when it comes to new things or things that seem like a passing fad. ( A cousin was a rep for AdvoCare and posting on Facebook about the products. I was intrigued and did as I typically do when new products intrigue me I googled the heck out it. I am a person who tries to find the good and bad reviews and then make the best decision I can, I am sure a lot of you are like that too. There were both good and bad reviews of AdvoCare of course, but I couldn't find anything so bad that it deterred me from trying. So I ordered a few products and truly liked them. I have been using them since the fall and after the first of the year decided to become a distributor. Now I will be honest, I have not tried all of the products, mostly because there are so many but here is a review of a few of my favorites.

AdvoCare Spark
What the company says:
AdvoCare Spark® Energy Drink mix is a unique multi-nutrient system that's designed to provide nutritionally advanced, long-lasting energy and enhanced mental focus.* Its 21 vitamins, minerals and nutrients work synergistically to give you healthy, balanced energy without making you jittery like other caffeinated beverages.*
Spark's unique combination of ingredients gives you fast-acting energy and B-vitamins enhance your body's natural energy-sustaining processes.*
For mental focus and clarity, the neuroactive amino acids in Spark help sharpen your mental focus and alertness by supporting your brain's ability to efficiently transmit messages within the nervous system.* With seven refreshing flavors and only 45 calories per serving, Spark gives you a lift that lasts for hours.

Why I say:
I truly love AdvoCare Spark, it is my favorite AdvoCare product. I love my morning coffee and I know that coffee has healthy benefits but when I load it up with cream it takes away some of the health benefits. I have not eliminated coffee from my life however I now drink Spark every week day morning instead and have a cup of coffee with cream on the weekends. Spark gives me that boost in the morning just like coffee but it has the added bonus of vitamins and minerals. Now with me exercising and currently training for my first half marathon of the year this is a good thing. Spark comes in a bunch of great flavors, my current favorite is fruit punch but truly they are all great. It truly is a healthy alternative to all those sports energy drinks on the market right now and better for you then pop. I have a friend who was a Diet Coke-aholic. She would get a large one everyday and sometimes more than one. I introduced her to Spark and she hasn't turned back and she feels better. It comes in a individual packs or in a canister. Here is another review on SkinnyMom's website.

AdvoCare Meal Replacement Shake
What the company says:
When you need to cut calories or you need a nutritious on-the-go meal, grab a Meal Replacement Shake. Meal Replacement Shakes have a 1:1 protein-to-carbohydrate ratio, which studies show supports weight loss and sustained energy. And since they're loaded with 24 grams of easily digestible protein, 26 vitamins and minerals and just 220 calories per serving, you'll satisfy your rumbling tummy, feed your muscles with high-octane fuel and give your body wholesome nutrients for a healthier you. Meal Replacement Shakes also work great as part of the Metabolic Nutrition Systems (MNS®).

What I say:
I started drinking protein shakes when my boys were little. I had two boys seventeen months apart, there just wasn't always time for me to sit down with a decent meal. I do not drink protein shakes everyday but I like them for a quick lunch or breakfast if I am on the run and I can have it in the car without crumbs everywhere. I have gone through many brands of protein shakes over the years, some have no flavor, some are too grainy and others are just all around horrible. I was looking for a new one to try and ordered these. I really like them and what I love most is they mix with water but still have great flavor. Most of the other ones I have tried were better with milk (soy milk is what I used). However when I am on the go, milk is not easy to bring along so I love that I can take the packet and a bottle of water. I use these when I am running errands and know I won't be home for lunch. They fill me up and prevent me from grabbing something at a drive thru or getting something junky from the store (Target hot pretzel for example, although delicious, not a great lunch) They come in Chocolate, Vanilla, Berry and Chocolate Mocha. Also they just introduced last week a meal replacement shake that is vegetarion/non dairy formula in dark chocolate, music to my ears. That will be in my cart on my next order.

AdvoCare 10 day Herbal Cleanse
What the company says:
The AdvoCare® Herbal Cleanse system can help rid your body of toxins and waste with its unique blend of herbal ingredients.* Using a systematic approach, this 10-day system guides you day by day through the steps for thorough internal cleansing and improved digestion.* Herbal Cleanse supports the body's metabolic systems and general health during the detoxification process by helping to keep energy levels up, aiding in removing impurities and supporting the immune system.* Some people who use Herbal Cleanse for the first time experience an encouraging weight reduction and/or reduction in inches when they pair the system with the recommended diet and exercise. Each Herbal

Cleanse system includes these three key products:

ProBiotic Restore™ ULTRA: Probiotics are beneficial microorganisms that confer health benefits on the host. Our bodies must maintain a healthy balance of beneficial bacteria and harmful bacteria to work at its best. When this balance is disturbed, it can have significant negative effects on our health. ProBiotic Restore ULTRA contains a superior multi-strain probiotic complex that provides four billion colony forming units (CFU) of freeze dried friendly bacteria to support your body's overall health by main-taining the normal, healthy balance of microorganisms your body needs.* This probiotic complex with six high potency strains - three species of Lactobacillus and three species of Bifidobacterium ensures full coverage of both the small and large intestines. ProBiotic Restore ULTRA helps strengthen and support our immune system, supports intestinal health and function, aids in digestion and enhances your weight loss program.
Fiber Drink:: Fiber Drink is rich in the mixture of fibers your body needs to work at its best.* Each serving contains 10 grams of soluble and insoluble dietary fiber to help add the fiber your diet may not provide. As part of the Herbal Cleanse system, Fiber Drink also helps move the toxins and waste material through the digestive tract while scouring your intestinal tract to support improved nutrient absorption.
Herbal Cleanse Tablet: The Herbal Cleanse tablet provides herbal extracts that help rid your body of the impurities that may be obstacles to achieving better health.* One ingredient, senna leaf extract, is known for its use to relieve occasional constipation, as well as to encourage the movement of waste through the intestinal tract.* Beet root powder and wheat grass juice are included to aid in the reduction of metabolic by-products in the blood and liver.* Cranberry juice powder helps cleanse impurities from the kidneys and aid in excretion through the bladder.* The Herbal Cleanse tablet also contains milk thistle extract, which has the active component silymarin. Silymarin has been traditionally used to aid in eliminating toxins from the liver and is also an excellent hepaprotectant and antioxidant.* Echinacea, astragalus, garlic, zinc and vitamin C help support the immune system.* Herbal Cleanse tablets also contain a wide range of B-vitamins to help maintain energy levels during the detoxification period.

What I say:
I have mentioned before that I am skeptic on a lot of things. I have always wanted to try a cleanse, however, I am not a green shake girl. I know I should be more open minded but if I am making a smoothie kale or spinach just doesn't sound good to me. So when I saw AdvoCare had this cleanse, I convinced my friend to try it with me (she is always up for trying my crazy ideas). So we ordered the products and embarked on a 10 day cleanse. Here is what I loved about it, it was a kick start to my clean eating goal. I loved that I was still able to eat, another concern I had with a cleanse was drinking liquid all day and not food.
This how the cleanse works. Depending on what day you are on you drink a fiber drink in the morning or take the probiotic pills. You also have a meal replacement shake or if you don't care for or don't want to purchase the meal replacement shake you can have three egg whites in the morning and drink a Spark. Then you have a healthy morning snack, such has unsalted almonds. For lunch you eat a lean protein and salad with a fruit snack in the afternoon. For dinner another lean protein and vegetable or salad. You cannot drink alcohol, have dairy, or any white refined sugars. You can have Quinoa, whole grain rice, whole grain bread just not the white stuff.
Even as I started the cleanse I still wasn't convinced I was going to feel any different. Well this skeptic was wrong, by day three I had more energy and felt good. I was introducing myself to new foods and enjoying the cleanse, although I truly missed my Nacho Cheese Doritos but I wasn't miserable without my chocolate.
Now I am not one for elimination diets and this cleanse was for 10 days, so I wasn't giving things up for good. But I can tell you this, after the cleanse I have not craved chocolate as much as I used too and have stuck to the clean eating (mostly On and Off the Wagon) It is a marathon not a sprint to change eating habits, just like weight loss.

Lastly, I am excited because they also introduced a Raw Bar last week that I cannot wait to try.

Now is AdvoCare for everyone, maybe not. But it works for me and I wanted to share what I like and why I use the products. I have not tried all of the products and I am not sure that I ever will but these are my favorites. I can also say just by using them you will not lose weight or instantly be healthy. Will they help? Absolutely. But they are a tool to use in your overall healthy lifestyle, it is still important to be active and eat healthy. No one product can make you healthy but it can help.

Thanks for reading, visit my AdvoCare Site if you want to learn more and contact me with any questions.

Question of the day:
The best fitness advice...

I am going to answer this one as a runner. The best advice I ever received as a runner was to run your own race. Do not worry that people are passing you or where you are in the pack. Concentrate on you and if you are running your best race. Compete with yourself to get a personal best time or a good pace. I have more fun in my races because of this advice and I feel great after a race if I have given myself a goal and reached it. I do not ever set out to win when I enter a race (if I ever did it would be awesome). My main goal is to finish the race and finish it in MY best time.

What is the best fitness or any advice you ever received?
