One of the things I love about late summer and early fall is the wooly worms.  I don’t know what their technical name is, but I usually just call them wooly worms…or fuzzy caterpillars.

My grandfather always told me that the color of the wooly worms was an indication of how hard or mild the winter would be.  Apparently, the lighter the color, the milder the winter.

I happen to love winter, so it always alarms me when I see blond wooly worms.  I want cold and snow so I can wear sweaters and scarves, and those really cute boots I am planning on buying.
