Wrapped Around Her Little Finger...And Loving It

I am a working mom so I really need someone to look after my baby girl while I'm away from 8am-5pm. Because of this, I was quite worried that she will be closer to her caretaker than to me, or worse, recognize the caretaker as her mom.

Thank God that didn't happen. My baby girl is close to me now. She's mostly by my side when I stay home during the weekends. She wants me to be the one to remove her clothes when she's about to be bathed. She's really sad when I have to leave for work. I am basking in her showers of attention.

But sometimes, she becomes too clingy. I can't even go to the bathroom without her banging on the door and crying sorrowfully. She knows when I am about to go to work and she would stand close to my legs and ask that I carry her. Or else she'd cry and it breaks my heart to see the hurt in her eyes.

Are little girls (or boys) like that? Or is it just a phase that kids go through?

But, soon, I will be with her more, I suppose, since I will become a work-at-home mom. We will see.
