Symptoms to Take Notice of in Children

The NHS has been facing ever-increasing pressures in recent years, with slashed budgets, staff shortages and lack of resources taking its toll on the quality of care. One of the many ways we commonly see the impact of these pressures is in waiting times for GP…

Mother of the Bride Guide

The day you’ve dreamed of for years has finally arrived! Your little girl is all grown up and has chosen a partner to start her life with, and you are officially a MoB -- Mother of the Bride! While congratulatory remarks are appropriate at this juncture, so are a few…

How to Through A Larger Than Life Small Wedding on a Budget

This one is as simple as crowdfunding your honeymoon. It might sound strange at first, but do you really need another blender or set of dinner plates? Instead of having your guests purchase a bunch of things you’ll end up trying to return anyway, why not let them chip in for…

Its 25 degrees out tonight and  just five minutes outside will make your nose and fingers feel like frozen popsicles if you’re not appropriately garbed.

Which is why my recent series of posts/articles on warm weather destinations, an ongoing visualization exercise I’m practicing right now is getting me really stoked. And yes, I had to borrow a 90′s term to label this feeling of anticipation and excitement I’m experiencing.

Because I just dated myself by using a 90′s term, my effort to redeem myself is the title. Which will get me back on track with the current decade. I’m using the title, YOLO, (I hate using this term but it seems very word-du-jour) “You Only Live Once” as title for this entry, because it captures in a nutshell why we decided to go on this trip this summer.

I’m totally stoked and YOLO-ing it on a monumental vacay with the family. One that involves flying half way across the globe (8,512.36 miles to be precise) on a 24-hour trip (including a lay-over stop in an Asian destination). With an 8-yr old and twin 4-year-old boys, you can bet this will be one EPIC adventure.

The kids are getting bigger and older and since YOLO is our mantra of the year, we decided to suck it up and travel with the kids so they can experience other cultures and develop their sense of wonder and adventure.

Traveling is such an important  part of a person’s development and what better way to end this post but through the words of some very learned disciples of travel:

“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.”

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.”

“Travel brings power and love back into your life.”

“Travel makes one modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.”

“There are no foreign lands. It is the traveler only who is foreign.”

Keep checking in on my blog, and you’ll get first access to the exotic destinations our family will embark on.

Join us as we keep on weaving stories into the tapestry that is our life.
