Thanks so much for your comment!  My kids are okay with math, but very glad summer is here so that they have a break from it!  Are you good with high school math?  My daughter is in gifted math, and in Georgia they don't teach Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus...instead they mix it all together into Math 1 (freshmen year), Math 2 (sophomore year), you get the picture.  I really worry that this isn't the right preparation for college, but I am not on the Georgia state board of education.  So I may call on you.  Thanks again for commenting.  By the way, I am a professor, but not in math!

Thanks for the note, Wanda. My youngest is in Grade 6 and has not had any math homework. I'm certain there will be days ahead in middle school where we can use your expertise! Thanks again.

I was just on your blog...WOW. Very good stuff on there.  I was a teacher years ago and I love helping kids.  I'm hoping to find some help with Singapore math so I can prepare my son this summer for the Singapore math program that he will start doing next year in 1st grade.  Thanks for commenting to me!

Thanks Wanda.  Someone suggested that I join this group after I appeared on a segment of The Oprah Winfrey Show last month.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUdZMqjwGR4

Just trying to find my way around here.  Need to get an official blog up and running.  I welcome all feedback.
