Hi there from The Girlz Korner in upstate New York where you'll find light, witty and rather entertaining articles on every topic imaginable from The Little Black Dress to Making Whoopie. So if you get a chance to kick back and exhale, if only for a brief moment ... come on over and see me some time.
Hey Denise! Glad to meet another firefighter wife. :) Our schedule is 24 on, 48 off... then there's the OT... dh is on a 4 day stretch right now. Is he involved with fighting the wildfires out there? I was reading your Thankful Thursday post and I know those emotions.. down to caring for the new baby on your own a lot of the time... Our son is 2 now, but I went through those days and it can be hard some (a lot of!) days. If you ever wanna chat with someone who can relate, let me know... I have yahoo mssgr... ChristyMW2. (Just tell me who you are so I don't think it is one of those crazy spam IMs that come through sometimes, lol). I'm bookmarking your blog. :) (I have to clean up my reader before I add anymore, lol, it is a mess!).
I was just reading a bit about you, and your comments on my blog!!! I am excited to have "met" you here! You seem like a person whom I can relate to! You have a beautiful family and I am so thankful for your firefighter hubby, what a crazy job.
I know that area!!! My sister lives in Sonoma and my Aunt in Napa (my mom is originally from Napa) Thats so crazy you know Lodi too!!! I am excited to get to know you better, its rare I come across local people when I join these things, I get a lot of East Coasters!!!
Hey, thanks for the welcome!
I now live in Lodi, Ca, near Sacramento. Originally I am from San Martin ca (near San Jose) Where are you located? I checked out your blog quickly (I am at work) What a cutie you have!!! I am very new to blogging (today!!!) but I will just go with it and see what happens!!
She's trying to stand?!
Then she's doing her job, isn't she? (Man I remember those day. My girls are 7 & 10 now.)
Well, I gotta tell ya', in my neck of the woods it's friggin' HOT!
It's almost 10:00 pm and it's 85 degrees. That is so-o-o not normal for Portland, Oregon.
So now I'm going to have some wine and go outside and watch the dragonflies and the bats. (At least that's what I think I'm seeing? How much wine have I had?!?)
really denise, all you can do is pray. i'm convinced there is precious little you can do to fix a picky eater problem. i've long ago stopped forcing the issue. i figure he'll eat when he's hungry, and there's no point with the arguments. and as far as what he eats - i don't fight that either. i occasionally insist he try something new to get what he wants, but it's been a slow process.
Ask any pregnant woman and she will tell you that now she’s expecting what once smelled delicious - like roasting coffee beans for example, has suddenly become the one smell that induces an overwhelming feeling of nausea. For some women the pregnant nose goes into smell overdrive…
