A big thank you for all those moms who are following me now. I've had my blog for eight months and I was beginning to think I'd never get one follower. MBC has been a great resource for me and I hope to make even more friends and promote my business and writing ambitions.
It's still freezing in New Orleans and while I like the cold I'm tired of frozen toes.
The buzz phrase for all busy moms should be "small bites". Doing a little at a time is the only way to survive. For instance, a 30 minute workout for me is impossible. But I can get ten minutes two or three times a day. In ten minutes I can do the warm up on my "Dirty Dancing" exercise dvd. It's not an Iron Man triathalon, but I'm getting some exercise. Remember Moms, small bites!
Thanks for the comment. I don't know of any research specifically on the "Your Baby Can Read" system but most similar research indicates that young children can't learn language from videos; kids need live interaction with adults. I don't know much about those programs but I'm very skeptical that the babies actually learn to read (i.e., comprehend) but just memorize or learn to repeat. I don't think a babies brain is developed enough to actual comprehend reading at such a young age.
Thanks so much for following my blog.. and i can totally understand the whole separated at birth.. i love your blog and it's so great to know there is someone else who totally knows what i was talking about... Thanks! :)

Great for you. I don't know anything about children's books, just that it's complex. I'm with a traditional publisher. Kensington Publishers. I will be self publishing an anthology project with a few other authors late this spring. My second novel with my publisher comes out August 1, 2010 and then my third August 1, 2011. Then we'll see.
I write women's fiction in the Christian fiction genre. My first novel, Secrets and Lies made it's debut on December 1st. It's a been an exciting month. You can learn more about the book or read an excerpt at my website http://www.rhondamcknight.net
