Hi! No, I don't speak a second language. I spent a year in Sweden as an exchange student and just started getting comfortable with speaking Swedish when it was time for me to come home. I didn't meet a lot of Swedish speakers so I lost it pretty quickly. My husband is fluent is Spanish though. He spent a couple of years in Uruguay and works in landscaping here in AZ so he uses it all the time. I have a very limited basic grasp of Spanish; I took two years in high school and 2 years in College. I do plan on teaching my children Spanish. Maybe we could collaborate on our blogs as I have plenty of Spanish speaking au pairs just dying to teach their kids Spanish. Let me know.
Thank you Barbara! Signing was and still the bridge in our home between Spanish, English and some Hebrew. When my nanny says something in Spanish, it immidiately translated to other languages, and Sign Language is the big connector between all.
hey Barbara! I am following you now too! I wish you were closer.. I would love for my daughter to learn Spanish at an early age. I don't think I'm the one to teach her though as I had several semesters of it in College and I can't manage to have a conversation unless it's about my favorite color or where I'm from :) lol.. I will keep up with your blog and maybe it'll help us both.. between that and Dora we should be all set!
