Do you participate in meme's?

I've been tagged for a few meme's and I think most of them provide creative and fun ways for my readers to get to know me - and to get links. But, I know that there are some bloggers out there who find them cumbersome and downright annoying. What do you think?

P.S. I'm going to provide the definition (as I see it) of a meme, since I only recently figured out what it meant myself: Meme: for most bloggers this term is synonymous with internet quizzes, surveys, and get-to-know-you questions that bloggers link to and pass around on their blogs; like "tell us five quirks about yourself...”

I have done a few in the past, if I get tagged for one I always try to do it, other than that the only way I do them is if I come across one that is new and as a fun theme!
I agree they are a good way to get to know each other, and helps the brain out when you can't think of something to write about.

I've been tagged a couple of times. I don't mind actually answering the questions of the meme because, depending on the questions, they can make for a great blog post.

But I don't like participating in the actual tagging ... it kind of feels like a chain letter to me and I've never liked chain letters.

I don't know. I don't find them that interesting to read on other people's blogs, so I'd probably skip them.

I usually keep them for Saturdays. It's my busiest day of the week and the day that my stats are going to be the worst anyway. The people who read every day will read them and the ones who can't read on weekends don't feel like they've missed anything then. I don't do them every Saturday, but once is a while doesn't seem to hurt readership.

I do know a few people that it seems like this is ALL they do on their blogs. Those I stop reading pretty quickly.
