How did you get your page ranking up with google?

I was looking at my page ranking and it's a great wopping 0... Yup that's a zero.. lol.. Was reading about linking and linking back, and just sooooo much info out there, some companies and directories wanted money... Was wondering what some of the season veterans have done, or what some of us bloggers are doing? or even if it doesn't matter to you..

Actually, I'm not even sure how to go about finding my page ranking? I guess I'd look at it like I do horoscopes: interesting and fun to look at but I wouldn't put much stock into it.

To find your Google Ranking you can download the Google Toolbar and see yours as well as the Google PR rank of every web site and blog you visit. Or, you can find out your Google PR by simply plugging in your URL here: http://pr.blogflux.com/

Never pay to get your blog indexed in search engines. Google and all of the others will pick it up sooner than later.

There really is no secret about increasing your page ranking. You simply have to blog consistently, network on the Net and in real life, and readers will come. In turn, your ranking will go up. That's pretty much how it works.

One way to increase your PR is by getting backlinks from higher PR sites. This does work! When I first started my Blogging with Cents, I didn't link out to anyone really but had incoming links from Adesblog (pr 7 at the time), Tyler Cruz (pr6 at the time), Problogger, etc. Within 3mths, I had a pr of 5. Of course, I messed that all up later but regardless, it does work;)
