We're all busy moms, so we have to place limits on how long it takes us to blog or else we will linger in compose mode far too long.

How long do you give yourself to write a post? How long is too long?

I write most of mine in advance, so I may take a couple of days tweaking it. If I'm writing something for immediate publication, I won't take more than 30-40 minutes (hubby starts getting jealous!).
I would say 30 min.
If I have an article type post I'll take as long as I need to make it good. If it's just a 'here's what happened today' post I'd say about 20 - 30 min or so.
I'm with the others. About 30 mins.

The video blog entries take about 30 mins. 5 mins of talking, then the rest is spent edited, attaching my opening and closing graphic, and adding to YouTube.

Video show posts take weeks to complete.

Oh goodness. I have not mastered this skill called "blogtime limit." It is something that I need to do because my darling children have started crying when I get on the computer....ugh.
I figure if I can't get my thought out in about 30 - 40 minutes than it is too much for one post, or my brain is too tired and I need to revisit the subject later.
It's funny...I probably write so much of it in my head during the day doing other things that it actually doesn't take too long to sit and type it out!
Now that you mention it... I do that a lot too. I really need to start jotting down all my blog ideas as well. So many just slip away like a vapor...

Depends. When I'm at work and I bring my laptop I will usually leave it up and add to it or otherwise tweak it when I have a few minutes so it is a work in progress for a few hours. Otherwise l try not to spend more than 30-40 minutes at one time!
Around 30 minutes. I write my post for the next day at night - I've found it's just easier that way.
I don't really have a limit but there are times when I sit down at the computer to start a post and I realize it's just not happening. Sometimes that realization comes after 5 minutes, sometimes 55 minutes.
I don't put a time limit on things, but my posts aren't incredibly long or anything (on either of my blogs). It takes about 10 minutes at the most for me to type it out if I don't have distractions/interruptions. If I'm multitasking, I just keep saving a draft of the post and work on it when I can.
