Do you stay away from blogging about politics for fear of losing readers?

I'm not one to bite my tongue and I most certainly will blog about my political beliefs and who I support, but does the fear of losing some of your audience or getting negative feedback keep you from speaking about politics on your blog?

I normally never blog about politics, today was a first read it here and comment: http://www.momsintheright.com/2008/08/this-is-first.html
I never blog about it because I'm just not that interested in politcs:) It bores me. I'd much rather write and read about food, poop, and how on earth I can get my son to eat something other than cereal!
I don't blog about religion or politics, nor do I discuss those things with friends IRL.
I'm with you!

I personally don't blog on the issues, but I believe to each their own.
I am not one to talk about politics in daily life so blogging about it isn't going to happen either. I have my veiws and I don't expect others to share the same!
Usually I avoid politics because it IS a traffic killer for me, particularly if I get into strictly state issues. Yet, I've wound up getting political twice this week, including today on Sarah Palin. I know it's probably not going to do well page view wise, but I used to be a political reporter and sometimes just want to stretch myself into that type of thinking again.

And any traffic dip usually is momentary. I usually recover the next day when I go back to funny.
I don't blog about politics for 2 reasons. First I don't normally talk about them with people in person and second I am a Green and a Libertarian, I get jumped on by everyone when I mention my political opinions, so it just isn't worth it to me to blog about it.
The only post I've ever written that mentions politics was my grande acceptance speech for an award I received on my blog yesterday. LOL. It was done in good humor and thankfully, my blogging pals thought it was funny. But in general, I try to steer clear of politics. I agree with many of the other moms here, my world is far too busy with potty training, sticky hands, gooey messes, and lots of giggling :-) Plus, quite frankly, I'm secretly dying to see one of those politicians change a stinky diaper - now that would be worth blogging about!
i don't normally discuss politics online much...i try to come to these places to escape the harsh realities of life. or to just meet cool moms. but if someone didn't want to be friendly w/ me simply because we had different opinions about politics than BUH-BYE. no worries...i don't base my friendships on where we stand politically.
I haven't yet blogged about politics. I don't know if I ever will. I like that my blog is humorous and I want it to be a "fun" place to visit.

I think if I started blogging about politics, it might not be a fun place to visit anymore.

Not exactly. I'm not really allowed to post about my political views on my blog because it is read by folks in my homeschooling group...and there I am not allowed to discuss anything that might at all be controversial. So by default I can't blog about my feelings. However, most of the gals know which way I lean.
