Do you stay away from blogging about politics for fear of losing readers?

I'm not one to bite my tongue and I most certainly will blog about my political beliefs and who I support, but does the fear of losing some of your audience or getting negative feedback keep you from speaking about politics on your blog?

I have such a strong opinion that I do avoid blogging on politics, but it is not out of disinterest. I am current on the issues, which may be why my opinions are so strong. My blog is mainly of a personal nature, so I usually don't post anything that is really controversial. I have enjoyed reading other bloggers' posts about politics, though.

I stay away from blogging about politics too much for fear of losing my job. I'm a new anchor, and I'm really not allowed to have those kinds of opinions. :)

I'm always very interested when a blog that I like ventures into politics. I will say, though that if they're too far on the "other" side, it will definitely inform how I read them from there on out.

It's odd that you asked this question. I was just thinking about this the other day. I really wanted to create an amazing post about obama vs mccain and I thought about my readers, the topic of my blog, and if it would fit. Since my blog is primarily about children and parenting I decided it would fit to post about the political topics relevant to parents and children. I haven't posted it yet but I will this week. It is, however, going to be purely factual and not try to persuade readers.

Well said! I blog about things I am passionate about and I feel for my children's sake I have to be passionate about the fate of my country. So Yes, you will find blogs on politics when you read me. But you'll also be amused.

no not really but i know some people are touchy about it, and also I dont want it to change what i think of my friends so i try to steer away from it in general.
