What's the best diaper cream for little bums?

Ya, I know it's a highly personal question (LOL), but after having three little ones in diapers, you would think that I know a thing or two about diaper cream. Not the case. The best stuff I've found is at Walmart (Equate generic) for $1.67 a tube, but I'm curious to know if any of you have found some that really works well?

We used Aveeno for my son. I couldn't and never wanted to use anything else on him once that worked the best. Nice to know the walmart brand works for you!

Corona :) They say that butt paste is really good stuff but I've never used it.

Also, Desitin but also use cornstarch baby powder on top of it. Works wonders........

A and D Gold. I would swear by it, and have used it on myself, on occasion...I seem to have bladder control issues since the births of my two big-headed kids, if you catch my drift, and constantly have to wear "protective gear"...anyway, the A and D has cured ALL our "diaper" rash problems!!!

From the viewpoint of a mother of 3 boys (last 1 finishing diapers now) and as a pharmacist, I swear by Dr. Smith's Diaper Ointment. It is a combination product of all thats great, and I use it duriing most bowel movement diaper changes, especially when they're little. It is not always found on the shelf in stores, but is sold through pharmacies & can be special ordered if they don't carry it. Also, if they start to have a more severe reddening or even bumpy appearance, it is very possible that it is a yeast. You can double check w/your doctor to make sure, but when this occurs I use clotrimazole cream (generic Lotrimin). It is sold for athlete's foot, but is an antifungal that works on any topical external yeast infection. The clotrimazole is applied twice daily, and then covered with a protectant like the Dr. Smith's, A & D, or one of the many other products people prefer. Good luck!

The Target brand A & D ointment has the EXACT same ingredients as regular A & D, and it works just as well! (Plus it's a LOT cheaper!)

I love Desitin Creamy and apply is religiously after every poop (hers not mine!) and at bedtime. This kid hasn't had diaper rash yet.

I used the Equate generic too. And still do occasionally for my 4 year old. It does a great job and smells a little better than Desitin. I've heard good things about Butt Paste, though.
