In my opinion, sending a thank you email is absolutely necessary. Posting about it on your blog isn't a must, but it's oh-so-appreciated... plus it's good karma! What you're doing sounds good to me :) If only every winner was that nice!

I think it sure doesn't hurt to give recognition on you blog.
On another note, I've tried to leave a few comments on your blog tonight and I' mnot able to accessthe comment page.
Big Fry has the same Cars chair as your son and I love the pic of him in the bath with his huge blue eyes!

Yes- definitely. Many give-a-ways are done for this purpose. It's part of the publicity they are looking for.
