Dear Mom Bloggers: Are You Utilizing Google Friend Connect Newsletters?

When I decided to get serious about growing my readership last spring, I
knew that one way to gain new followers would be to start utilizing Google Friend Connect. You’re probably quite familiar with Google Friend Connect Members Gadget, but if not, it’s that little collection of faces on my right sidebar with a Join This Site
button on top. At least 90% of the blogs I visit are using the Members
Gadget, however, I’m finding that many bloggers really have no idea how
to fully utilize the features available through Google Friend Connect,
and that’s a shame!

If you are talking about automatically sending out your newsletter to people who
sign up for your gfc that's a big NO-NO to me. If we wanted to subscribe to your
newsletter we know exactly how to do it. Sending it out just because you can
is not right!

Barb, when you follow a blog on GFC you are "joining" a site. If you just want to read a blog in your RSS reader, then add it to your google reader in the traditional way. GFC was designed with the Newsletter feature integrated. If you receive a newsletter from a site you have joined, you always have the option to one-click unsubscribe.
