Do you respond to comments?

I was just wondering how many of you respond to people who leave comments on your blog. I've left comments on a few blogs but personally, I like it when the author responds to a comment. What do you think?

I try to but sometimes life gets me super busy. After a few days have passed, I feel like I'm too late to respond. . I would say that I respond to 95% of them.

I always try to, but I also don't get many comments :). I think it's nice when your readers know that you do care what they have to say.

Yes, we think it makes it more personal and would make a reader more inclined to return. I like to have my comments naswered when I write on other blogs.

I try to respond to everyone, especially if they ask a question etc.

One of my pet peeves is when I hit respond but can't because it's at noreply@blogger.com so disappointing especially when it's a great comment!

I try my best to reply to comments that are not on giveaway posts. I have a plugin that allows me to reply directly on my blog and it sends an email to the commenter. I believe it's common courtesy. I'll also try to visit their blog and comment. I admit that sometimes life gets the best of me and there's just not time enough in the day, but I make the effort!
