I had to buy a new domain with Hostgator because I accidentally let my domain expire. I have been trying to get the old domain to point to the new and have been having so much trouble! I've been working on it for a week! I used godaddy last year and someone suggested Hostgator. For some reason blogger told me I have to buy webhosting from someone else, so I bought it from Hostgator. I don't understand why I would have to do this when blogger is free. Any ideas? My new domain name is still pointing to hostgator. I wish blogger had a phone number. Their helper section is not helpful.

Tanya, in the settings area in blogger there is an area where you can set it if you have your own domain name. This area in Blogger should help you set the domain name so that it points to your new blog in Blogger. If you have to do it manually, then you will need to get the IP address of your site on blogger and then update in Host Gator.
Go to your Blogger dashboard and then click "settings". Look under the publishing heading and you will see a place for you enter your own domain name. For further setting instructions looks for this phrase "Your domain must be properly registered first. cindy@cindybuccieri.com
