I'm beginning to wonder if blogging is making me fat. I started blogging shortly after having my second child, and I'm still holding on to that extra "baby fat." Now that I am running two sites, I use my baby's nap time as work time, not work-out time, and when the work is finally done, I'm too exhausted to exercise! It's a vicious cycle!

Maybe my real problem is managing my time properly. (my house would agree)

How do you prevent weight gain when blogging requires so much sitting?

Yes, I've been thinking the same thing about myself. I also maintain two sites and my day job is all about being on the computer too. It's a bad combination. I don't have an answer to how to prevent weight gain, but I recently got a Pilates dvd that MIGHT help. If I can just find the time to do it! :)
What's really sad is that I have a DIET blog and have gained more weight since I started it, go figure. I think it's because I'm always thinking about food and recipes. I've also found that if I don't exercise before everyone's up in the morning, I don't have time. I'm too busy blogging.
I have thought about running before everyone gets up as well, but have I done it? No! I need all the sleep I can get! :(

I know I just need to change my habits, but it's so hard when time is limited every day.
I am all about the sleep. Makes me a much happier mommy. But I do love to run - it relieves a lot of stress.
Yes, I agree. On the days I do run it feels wonderful and actually sleep better at night, too. Finding the time, though, is difficult.
i thought about it before. I really gained weight weeks after I started blogging. I do exercise but I think, I'm more excited to blog than jumprope or do crunches. Sigh.
I think it's actually making me thinner because I forget to eat! LOL :-)

Um, I wish I had that problem. :)
Yeah, me too. My friend says she forgets to eat all the time. I just wish I would forget one meal, one chocolate, one bowl of ice cream, one....
I absolutely think that blogging (or anything that keeps you sitting at the computer hours on end) discourages getting up and out.

I work from home and am at the computer ALL DAY LONG. Since I bill for my time, I view anything that gets me up from the computer as a money drain...THEN, in my leisure time and kid-free time, I'm blogging...and not exercising.

For me, it's become unhealthy. When I forced myself to take a walk the other day, I was amazed at how good it felt to have my blood actually circulate...and I vowed to do it more often.

My husband suggests that I get up earlier and exercise -- before the work and the urge to sit hits. I've also taken computer breaks and danced around the living room for 5 minutes at a time (much to the entertainment of my neighbor who happened to look at his window).
Best question ever!!!! :)

I definitely have to make an extra effort to get off of my bum and do things. It is much easier to sit and blog. I have to make an effort to work out - even when I am tired.

You still have a baby, though and it is harder to be out running around when you have to work around naptime. This too shall pass.
Girls-yesterday we had a beautiful day in Oklahoma! We all went outside and I cleaned out my car, and it felt great!

I think it is all about discipline and overcoming that urge to sit. I'm happy to know that I'm not alone. :)
