Hi Alisha,

I just visited your blog and added myself to your follow list! I think your blog is very inviting...very colorful with wonderful ideas and recipes. The best way to get followers and more traffic to your blog is to visit other blogs....comment on their posts and follow them. It's kind of like an unspoken etiquette....you follow someone, then they're more than likely going to follow you back. Before you know it, you've got a whole list of new blogs that you'll enjoy reading and getting to know those people.

Also, for social networking sites like this one, search for other bloggers who have the same interests as you or people who maybe live in the same area....you know, people you have things in common with. I've met so many wonderful bloggers this way!

Thank you so much for your advice. I really want to make blogging work for me. So your tips are great. I have already found that the MBC is fantastic. I only found it yesterday and already I have met some lovely people. I really love meeting new people and making new friends.

Hi Susan,

Thanks for your input! I have just had a look at your blog. What a great idea! I am going to have an indepth read tomorrow (its after 10pm here). I have had a lot of problems with my daughter primary school this last year and have been considering the homeschool option. I can't wait to read more! I am following you now too!

Be sure to tweet out your new blog posts :) Your followers will often re tweet your posts to their followers.


You should also learn a bit about SEO - though blogger may limit what you can do. This is why I am a big Wordpress on your own host advocate - it gives you more control over SEO and other promotional tools.

I love the blog design BUT the font contrast is a bit hard to read :(

Thank you so much for the advice. I have other blogs which use wordpress and I do agree that I really like wordpress. So I might give that a try. Though I havent done much with blog designs in wordpress. I will have to play around with it a bit.

I do tweet about all my blog posts and you are definitely right it is a great tool! I didnt understand twitter at first but now I am a huge fan!!

I am heading back to my blog now to have a look at the font. Im going to see if I can find something which is a little easier to read!

I totally agree with Helene, the best way to meet bloggers and build a readership is to visit and comment on other blogs of similar interest. Its the best way to build community. :)

I find that your blog is a lovely one.! I love the colors! :) I am following you now... Other than what was adviced aldready you might want to try to exchange links (buttons) with other websites. For example, I can add you button to my blogroll if you add mine. It has worked for me.

To make money... I have made so little that is can't buy even a latte! (that's my goal now lol) But I just found out about LinkWorth that is another way of advertisement. It looks nice. I wrote a post about it. Visit my blog to read it! :)

I agree with Helene. If you visit and follow other blogs, they will most likely return the favor. It also helps to participate in memes and blog carnivals. That's how I got my start.

I don't make a lot of money on my blog but enough to make it worthwhile. Once your readership grows, the advertisers will be knocking on your door!
