Well, only Google knows a persons Page Rank, the tool you see on the bar is just vanity and aren't true numbers.  But the best way to get higher in the search engines is to do keyword research, search engine optimization and get links back to your blog by way of guest posts, blog commenting and article marketing.  Those are just a few things.

 

Your blog is very bright and pretty.  Might I recommend that you limit the buttons/banners and other images.  It took a while to fully load and looks crowded.

Just keep on writing good content, comment on successful blogs in your niche, and make friends and reach out to other bloggers. Content is really king, so make sure you write well and with minimal mistakes and don't worry so much about PR. Also, I suggest getting involved this community and the BlogFrog community or follow bloggers on Twitter and ask for advice when you are stuck.

Write, write, write, Find your niche and keep writing. Post on other peoples blogs. Stay active on Twitter and Facebook. You can sign up for Google alerts to track how often your blog shows up.

I'm waiting for the day when PR companies and brands realize PR has nothing to do with traffic. I had a PR4, it went to 0, back up to 2, and now back up to 0. I still get around 4,000 to 5,000 visits a day so it has nothing to do with traffic. I have almost 300 inbound links coming into my site from other blogs and websites and still it is 0.

So, unless you are trying to get PR so brands and PR reps will see it don't worry about it. Focus on the traffic. You get traffic by writing content. The more the better. Or the more unique the better.

To set up Google alerts, go to  http://www.google.com/alerts and follow the prompts.  Let me know if you have questions, happy to help.

When I started my blog, I tried to remember to open my blog from the Google page from search.  And ask your friends and relatives to do so as well.  Make they search for the name of your blog and click on it from Google.  You will go up the list in no time!
