Hi All,
I'm a Gynecologist in the process of creating a blog in Women's health. Of course, there is already a wealth of medical information on the internet...though many times, the information can be difficult to decipher, especially for the average non-medical reader. Further, the information isn't alway easily prioritized...possibley leaving some people thinking they may have a much more serious condition than their symptoms suggest...or even worse, they may UNDER-diagnose their symptoms.
I plan on creating a simple,quick-read format, and want to be a clear voice for today's busy, yet health concious women. We'll address topics and answer questions that come up everyday in our practice.
Aside from competancy, one of the greatests skills I share with my patients is quality communication. My approach had always been to treat patients just as I would a sister or friend. In nearing my 15th year in a successful OB/GYN practice, I'd have to say the patients have apprecitated that 'Girlfriend's' approach, and friendly touch. (Hopefully my caring yet witty personality will come though..;)
If one patient in my office has a question on a Gynecologic topic...then so do countless other women. I've decided to use social media/blogging to share my answers with all who are interested.
Would you be interested in joining/sharing in on a blog such as this?

Brittanie,
So happy to hear your interest!
I've done posts on Mirena, reversible, reliable contraception, with the advantage of lighter periods.

Great! I will have to check out your blog. I actually am curious about what I found called the "mirena crash". I had my Mirena removed August 1, 2012 and my husband and I have been trying to conceive with no luck yet. I also have not had a menstrual period since that time. Have you ever heard of the Mirena Crash?
There can be a delay in the return of normal menstrual cycles after discontinuing a birth control pill (not common, but make take up to a few months.) This may be similar for mirena...though I'm not familiar with any term 'mirena crash'.
(Sorry but just as a caveat, I must add: My postings are not intended to serve as medical advice. Their intent is purely informational.)
