There are so many reasons why we start to blog. Some of us begin blogging to find camaraderie among moms. Others of us start blogging because we want to hone our skill as writers or because we have some really heavy ideas that we want to share with anyone who will listen. And, then again, some of us start blogging because of all the FREE stuff.

Why did you start blogging?

The freebies sure didn't hurt anything, but mostly, my blog is the grown up version of writing "I wuz here" on a classroom desk!

To promote my shop and share pictures of my kids with my family. Whimsical Creations
I wanted to share pics of my kiddo and also share my business w/ friends and family. I had no idea how fun it was going to become.
I wanted to write and be a part of the online community.
I like to write! Of course!
I missed being creative. I've always liked to write. Saw social media marketing as a train I might be late catching, but I still wanna jump on. Fun, relaxing, virtual community, friends, creative outlet...

just starting and learning, but loving it.
I took a graduate class in graphic design. Part of the grade for the class was posting to a blogspot website. I was required to post interesting ads, magazine articles, product packaging, etc. I found it hard to remember to post at first, but got used to it. When the class ended I started focusing my attention on my family blog. I would like to make a career of blogging/writing...is it possible? I'll get back to you on that one! You can read my musings from on the Mom on the Run Family at http://www.writingmylifeoneblogatatime.blogspot.com
This is a question I've asked so many mom bloggers in my interviews. I feature a profile of a different mom each week on my blog, Everyday Baby Steps. I'm finally feeling ready to take my research and pitch it to publications. We'll see. I started blogging to motivate myself to write; I never anticipated the community I'd encounter. I'm loving it.
Initially, I wanted to share information with the local (NYC) mom group that I started. It kind of snowballed from there...
I started blogging to share my experiences of motherhood. Then I started making money at it and getting free stuff. Now it's to share my knowledge and inspire people to read with their kids and eat more healthfully. The funny thing about blogging is that it evolves over time and meets your needs to get your message out to the world, create and participate in community, and share.
I started blogging to get my brain going again. Although I love being a stay at home mom, I felt like the lack of adult interaction was starting to make my brain mushy. It was also an excuse to take time everyday for myself and take a break from catering to my daughter and husband.
