I Want to Conduct My First Giveaway

Hey Everybody,

I have a new blog that has been up since March, but I'm trying to drum up my traffic. I noticed that A LOT of people do giveaways, and I thought that might be a start. But I have no clue of where to begin.

It's my understanding that its best to do something worth $50 or more. Do any of you get free things from sponsors to give away on your blogs? Also, do you pay for the shipping, or does the sponsor ship it directly. I don't have a lot of money, so I really want to keep my spending down.

I see so many people doing this, that I'm thinking there must be a way. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Nicki,

As far as I know, most bloggers (at least Mommy Bloggers) host giveaways with prizes that come directly from the companies/PR agencies.

If you're new to giveaways, then it's a good idea to start off with a giveaway that you host yourself if you don't currently have a company/PR rep working with you yet.

My Blog also started in March. I decided I wanted to have an ongoing Flip Flop review and givaway section. I wrote everyone I could find and asked if they would be willing to help me out. I explained to them that although my blog was new I was very active on Twitter and Facebook. I was very surprised to get 4 companies right away that wanted to help. I learned along time ago, if you want something it never hurts to ask, the most someone can say is no. Good Luck

im new to blogging and just started my first giveaway! i hosted it myself to get my follower base up so companys will take me more seriously im also signed up on blogspark and b2b and i get emails of oppurtunitys i just got my first review from blogspark, u can try signing up for them maybe that will help. i have been contacting a few companys here and there but only response i got so far was i need more followers keeping my fingers crossed though good luck!
