Hi, Nicki! I have to say I make some money from my blogs, but it's writing posts for Blogsvertise. I know others sell advertising, but I've not had ANY luck with that. I'd be interested in this information, too!!

Hi Nicki,

It is hard to make money with a blog. I'm basically done with affiliate marketing that pays pennies. I do much better when selling my ad space myself.

Thanks, that makes a lot of sense. Now, I just have to figure out how to go about doing that. Maybe make my own widget to advertise ad space would be a first good step.

What a fantastic post! Thanks for all the great information. I am definitely going to sign up with some of the companies you mentioned and see where I can go from there.

I don't want to get too bogged down with ads though, I'm more into my writing. I'm hoping I can find a way to balance the two.

Any tips on selling ad space? That is the one area I don't do so well in. I don't have the time to go out and look for companies to advertise.

I am very interested also in learning how to advertise on sidebars...
