Hi this is wendy from http://my2preciousboys.blogspot.com . Don't get discourage it all takes time. I being blogging for a month too and I am putting myself outhere. I participate in the forums I leave comments in other blogs. I bearly have 15 followers. I am trying little by little it would come to you. Just promote yourself.

I agree with what some others have said: focus on doing it because you love it and for the exercise of writing and documenting your life. The rest will follow.

A lot has to do with the content and the relevance to the readers. As a new blog myself, I feel a lot has to do with the appearance of your blog, which I can see you haven't been blogging in a while, but don't lose confidence! If the layout is something that frustrates you, then I can help you with that. =) No problem! Things look a little scattered on your page, so you could definitely work on that. Furthermore, there are blog hops on bigger blogs to get your name out there.

I don't think it's that hard. I had followers very soon and media as well. I think it just takes a few tools that's all. Social media is a huge help. But just asking people to follow doesn't really work after 10 or so blogs are you really reading those? Probably not.  So building a following is better then asking for followers ;)

Once you discover your voice then the people who love that voice will flock to you- but it doesn't have to take forever.

Also set up a newsletter. Those are people who want to hear what you have to say. I'm honored to have the followers that I do.

I think it's important to consider that people also follow via rss feed and general bookmark. I only have 23 followers but 100+ views per day.

I'm new to blogging, too. I started less than a month ago. I don't know that I'd want to follow a bunch of blogs I never read or have them do the same, but it's nice to find blogs I enjoy, then leave comments and follow them. I didn't start off doing that to get followers, but it has worked out that way. I'm a bit confused by the numbers from my different following sources, but I think it's just past 50 in the last couple days. I'm interested in all of the tips here, and going to try some out! :)
