I had a peek and I enjoyed my visit. I love the inspirational stores you shared from the My 600 Pound Life show. I enjoyed the recipes and the crafts post as well. Personally I feel while building the initial burst of traffic isn't always easy it does get better with time. Your on the right track by joining a bloggers network which is sure to help build your audience.I find you'll also get many visits from posting comments on others similar blogs that are interesting and genuine to the content posted. I do have to mention thought I personally find blogspot a PITA simply because I don't use anything of those networks and therefore it will not let me post comments.

you have be more socially active advertise your blog at the most you can refer friends and co workers try to make it visually strong add best of content give the best you can

I am in the same boat, I began in March, so far I have spent most of my time designing my blog (totally new to all of this + 2 lo's at home)  barely having much time to write!  LOL.  but I am trying to get out there and network.  I will gladly follow as many as I can on this post and see if it helps!

There have been quite a few excellent replies already in this thread! The best advice I could give you to help give your blog and social network follower count up, is to begin with your family and friends. Invite them to follow. Facebook is like magic, when you publish an update, any of your friends or family who like/comment on your post - their friends (followers) will take notice so it's like a ripple effect. Whenever you publish an update on Facebook, make sure to include a link to your blog and every once in a while (not too often to avoid looking spammy) invite them to follow your blog & other social networking profiles.

I think it takes time. I started in March and have found that the more you visit other people's blogs and leave fully engaged comments, the more followers come your way. By "fully engaged" comments, I mean a comment that says you actually took time to read their post and found something that you were able to connect with. I notice a lot of people strictly just want followers but not engaged followers. I want engaged followers because that builds loyalty and credibility. Simply typing "found you on such and such, please follow me back" screams that they just want a number without substance.

I've noticed it takes a while to get the followers but getting traffic is easy. I only have 16 followers and my blog has been up and running since Jan 2013 but I've had over 3,000 page views. It all depends on who is coming to visit.
