I'm wondering what legal and business practices you might be using for your blog. I am considering starting a new blog or Web site that would be more like a commercial Web site and online business. I am wondering about the legal issues, if any, surrounding product and service reviews, and also, about copyright and income tax issues. Has anyone filed their blog as a business? If selling advertising space, at what point would you start reporting income and keeping income and expense records? Do you have business advisors? laywer? accountant? etc?

Right now I am just considering making a "real business" type media blog, selling advertising to local and online businesses, but I'd like to be prepared and think through some of these issues and plan things out a bit before making the commitment of time and money to get started. Are there any good articles out there about doing a professional blog business and best practices for legal protection and financial accounting? (vs. generating the income).

Thanks so much!
