Did you wake up one day and realize that you are all of a sudden responsible for you. Your actions? Your life? It's part of the very sad and tragic circle of life. So, what does "adulting" actually mean? Let's take a look: College, Banking, Career (applications, resumes, job hunting), Dr. Appointments, Bills, Insurance (health, car, home, etc), Taxes...the list goes on and on and on.

Starting a series on How To Handle Life seemed appropriate considering the number of people who simply just do not get it. ***I was fortunate and had the luxury of a husband (boyfriend at the time) when these issues came up who handled them...while teaching me along the way. I have encountered so many people however, that either weren't that lucky, did not have the learning opportunities (family or school wise), or simply never cared to figure it out themselves. Thus, the reason for this awesome series!
Part I: Healthcare
Everyone at this point has heard of ObamaCare. And whether or not you like it, it's here to stay...well, hahaha for the next year or so at least. So, save yourself the heartache, the penalty fees and healthcare struggle in general and let me explain a little more in depth about what ObamaCare is and how to obtain it. The in's and out's of the new healthcare system are tricky, but here is some very valuable info. Enjoy at http://confessionsofasanemama.blogspot.com/2016/03/life-series-part...
Please let me know your thoughts. Feedback is greatly appreciated. :)

I am not 100% sure what you are looking for. Are you trying to find people to give you their thoughts on ObamaCare only or about the moment we realized we are adults and have to be responsible for ourselves? Thanks. :)

I do understand how it feels to be an adult all of a sudden. I think I first felt like that when I had my first born. All of a sudden you are responsible for not only you but also someone else. Your baby depends on you. Now you have to always put your child first. I think I was an adult before she was born but somehow life seemed so simple I would work, go to school, go out with friends, eat whenever I wanted to. All my priorities are based on my kids needs and schedule. Also choosing the right things for your children is hard because you hope you choose the right thing.

I know how it feels when you don't have any choice but to act like an adult. I need to be responsible for a lot of stuff like bills, making money, and others. It makes me miss the old days when I don't need to worry at all.

good read!

Thanks for writing this blog Sandy :). Adulting is really a tough thing to do especially when you're becoming a parent. Health Insurance is really important because it gives protection from unexpected expenses or high medical costs, you will also have lesser expense in-network health care coverage and you can have free preventive care, including vaccines and check-ups.

I needed to see this so much today. I feel like I'm alone in this uphill battle and some days its super hard to get the gumption to keep on doing those things that are tough to even think about. Thanks so much!!!

Hi, Good question. For the past five years, I have been interested as well.

What I have found for myself is an Integral Theory.

It is a powerful cross-cultural comparison that provides a reliable assessment for the mapping of human skills, abilities, and behaviors.
